Safety Razor Chills in the Georgia Tech Invention Studio
What happens when the famed Razor scooter sells on Black Friday for $17? Purchased, stripped down, and retrofitted with a motor larger than the wheels and heavier than the entire stock frame.
Safety Razor was designed with one goal in mind: get from point A to point B very quickly. With a power system designed for electric bicycles, it has effortlessly accomplished that and more. Safety Razor has become a symbol of the Georgia Tech Invention Studio, often used as an example of exemplary waterjet machining and the capabilities of the facility. It continues to inspire other students to dream bigger and embark on their own personal projects.
Safety Razor v1.1 has been ridden by over 50 different students, 3 professors, and 1 faculty member with no failures to date.
